Project 11 Hazard Yellow Shrimp Sticks
A slow-grazing, carotenoid-rich shrimp food handmade in Queensland for Neocaridina colonies.
Hazard Yellow combines real vegetables, algae, plant nutrients, protein sources, minerals and natural pigment-rich ingredients in a firm stick designed to behave differently from ordinary pellets.
Drop one into the aquarium and it gradually rehydrates, releases a light feeding cloud and gives the colony a surface they can graze from together.
No rapidly dissolving pellet. No tank full of sludge. Just a long, controlled feeding window.
Why Hazard Yellow?
Hazard Yellow was developed especially with yellow and orange Neocaridina in mind.
Its ingredient profile includes naturally carotenoid-rich ingredients alongside plant micronutrients, protein and mineral sources to support normal colour expression, growth and healthy moulting as part of a varied shrimp diet.
Built around:
- Carotenoid-rich plant ingredients
- Real pumpkin and carrot
- Spirulina and leafy greens
- Plant + insect-derived nutrition
- Mineral and shell-supporting ingredients
- Slow, colony-friendly grazing
- Clean in-water performance
The Stick Is Part of the Design
Hazard Yellow isn't simply shrimp food pressed into an unusual shape.
The stick itself creates a feeding surface.
Once submerged it begins to soften and lightly bloom, attracting shrimp to graze directly from the coating while remaining firm enough to stay together for an extended period.
That means:
Quick attraction → gradual rehydration → extended grazing → easy cleanup
Rather than disappearing into substrate as mush, the stick can simply be removed when feeding is finished.
What's Inside?
Hazard Yellow uses a dense mixture of ingredients selected for nutrition, pigmentation support and feeding response.
Key ingredients include:
Jap pumpkin • carrot • spirulina • spinach • paprika • turmeric • astaxanthin • marigold extract • bee pollen • brewer's yeast • flaxseed • hemp protein • alfalfa • kelp • cuttlebone • chitosan • garlic • vitamin E • trace minerals
We use agar as the structural binder, allowing the food to rehydrate gradually while maintaining its shape in the aquarium.
Handmade in Queensland
Every batch is made in small quantities rather than mass-produced as conventional pellets.
Fresh vegetables are steamed and blended with the dry ingredients before the agar binder is activated. Each stick is then individually coated and dehydrated using a staged low-temperature process.
It is slower.
That's intentional.
It gives us control over coating thickness, texture and how the finished food behaves once it hits water.
How to Feed
Place one stick into the aquarium and allow shrimp to graze.
Adjust feeding quantity to suit your colony size and feeding response. Remove the stick when the colony loses interest or if excess food remains.
Because the coating remains attached to the stick, uneaten food is exceptionally easy to remove.
Reusable Glass Packaging
Hazard Yellow is supplied in a reusable glass jar rather than a disposable plastic food tub.
It protects the sticks during storage, keeps the product neatly contained and can be reused once empty.
Launch Batch
You're purchasing the current Hazard Yellow launch formulation.
Project 11 is an actively developed food range, and we will continue refining individual formulas as new ingredients become available and our feeding trials expand.
Future batches may therefore receive minor formulation changes.
Current formulation: v0.3.6
The product you're buying today is the actual released Hazard Yellow product, not a sample or prototype.
Project 11
Hazard Yellow is the first colour-focused food in the Project 11 range.
Coming next:
Reactor Red
Prime Core
Different formulas. Same obsession with what happens after the food actually enters the aquarium.
